Kaldor Showroom and Offices : Sydney : Australia

John Kaldor Fabricmaker Showroom and Offices : 1989

With a total of 70,000 sq.ft., the program included the development of a 2 storey core and shell building, divided between private offices and pubic showrooms, with the planning and design including all interior spaces. The building grid was emphasized by creating a perimeter 'colonnade' layered behind the curtain wall. Within the colonnade a series of mobile textile 'garages' aided presentations in multiple scaled showroom areas. The pyramidal ceiling over the quadrant of 2nd floor spaces is punctuated and differentiated by four light wells. Supporting Kaldor's retail and in-store shop initiative, a series of custom designed display fixtures were developed and featured throughout the project.
